We're just plumbers.

Silverfork Plumbing is a small family-run shop in Silver Fork, California. I'm Ray Halvorsen — I've been a licensed master plumber for 22 years, and the last nine of those have been spent right here on the Highway 50 corridor. Before that I worked commercial new-construction in Sacramento, and before that I grew up fixing well pumps with my dad in Carson Valley, Nevada.

Why we started Silverfork

In 2016 my wife Janine and I moved up here full-time. We kept hearing the same two complaints at Fausel's Market: "I can't get a plumber up from Placerville" and "when I do, they charge me for the drive." So we hung a shingle. It was supposed to be a side gig. Nine years later we have four plumbers on the truck and we still won't charge a trip fee inside El Dorado County.

How we work

• Flat-rate pricing. Our estimator sees the job, prices the job. No hourly meter running.
• Written estimates before we touch anything. You sign, we work. Full stop.
• No subcontractors. Every person on your property is a Silverfork employee in a Silverfork truck.
• 5-year warranty on water heater installs. We use Rheem and Navien — brands we can stand behind.
• We specialise in older mountain homes. Galvanised-to-copper conversions, well pump service, seasonal weatherization.

The crew

Ray + three other plumbers (Carlos, Dean, Mikaela) + Janine running the office. Everyone on the truck has a journeyman license or is in their apprenticeship year under our CA C-36 contractor license (# 1042617).
